Reimagining Recruiting:
A Human-Centered Approach to Talent Experience
To support a full-scale reimagining of the global recruiting experience, I led the design and facilitation of human-centered workshops for both global and North America teams—delivered in just four weeks from request to execution. The goal: shift recruiting leaders from legacy thinking to a 0→1 mindset grounded in candidate empathy, experience design, and advocacy.
Through mixed-method research, immersive workshop design, and creative techniques like mock “Glassdoor” reviews and prototype testing with external participants, I helped teams uncover key friction points and co-create personas, journey maps, and future-state strategies.
The outcome was a set of region-specific strategic roadmaps, future-state experience blueprints, and a cultural shift toward recruiting as a differentiator. The effort also catalyzed the integration of human-centered design practices.
Challenge
The recruiting function was operating within outdated frameworks that no longer met the needs of modern candidates—or the business. As expectations around work, technology, and employee experience evolved, the organization sought to move beyond process improvement and instead build a fundamentally new recruiting experience. The goal was to attract top talent, improve internal mobility, and transform candidates into long-term advocates. To do this, teams needed support shifting from legacy methods to a human-centered, design-led approach.

Approach
-
Rapidly scoped and delivered two immersive design workshops for global and North America recruiting teams within a four-week window
-
Analyzed existing data to align goals and identify research gaps
-
Recruited external participants to share real candidate insights and test early-stage recruiting experience prototypes
-
Facilitated hands-on design thinking exercises, including persona creation, journey mapping, and experience walkthroughs
-
Designed experiential moments—like a co-creation dinner—to highlight the impact of intentional experience design
-
Synthesized outputs into region-specific strategic roadmaps and experience standards
Impact
-
Delivered future-state journey maps and service design blueprints tailored to candidate personas
-
Created strategic roadmaps for both global and NA teams, including minimum desirable experience guidelines
-
Reframed recruiting as a relationship-driven experience, grounded in empathy and powered by design
-
Helped shift teams from resistance to advocacy for HCD, enabling a culture of experimentation and insight-led iteration
-
Laid the groundwork for early AI integration and scalable, candidate-centered recruiting practices
